When it comes to business start-ups, the truth is that most can fail, and many do fail in a big way. Over half of UK businesses fail in the first five years, and 70% have invested their own money.

There are some other common traits for the owner of a business start-up. Most start in the first place because they probably had their own dreams of what they wanted to achieve and create a life of freedom. They are probably very focused on achieving their goals. Being around a community of positive business people, who dream bigger, think bigger and enjoy life experiences. The opportunities from the journey can become so much more than what you first set out to achieve. 
  3. Living the journey, you simply can not fail in achieving your goals. After all, what do we it all for?

There is an aspect of innovation that not so many in business talk about.

” I like to be innovative” is what most say. The challenge is that when something is unconsciously perceived as too innovative and unknown territory the chimp brain kicks in and puts the body into a state of fear. The problem then becomes that high levels of innovation can be missed and as a consequence making it even more difficult to stand out. A completely unconscious process. It is far more worrying what people think about us than what it means to be innovative.

So often we are unconsciously the creators of our own limitations without being aware.

The secret of standing out from the crowd is an attitude of “yes and …” . Not something us Brits in business is generally used to. You will be amazed at how your business starts to stand out from the crowd as you challenge yourself to embrace ideas even if they make you feel uncomfortable initially. Rewarding Loyalty. So What’s New?

In 1994 as a student, I was promoting one of the UK’s first loyalty cards in a Sainsbury’s carpark. Over 2 decades later, we are more than familiar with a points system and rewards cards both as consumers and within our business lives.

The idea of rewards we felt rewards presented a way that we could develop the concept of Bleisure with a familiarity that our community could easily understand. I earn rewards from what I purchase.

We are not an ordinary rewards programme.

An important aspect for us was that we build our rewards and ecosystem with our members and partners. That means that not only do members benefit from rewards, but the ecosystem benefits from driving increased sales to our partners at the same time (who are also members of the community). There are benefits all around. Our programme is also very focused on how it can be used to drive loyalty for the customers of our members. Members can use Bleisure Rewards® to provide incentives for their own customers and when members customers are part of the community too, they can come together and enjoy hospitality style experiences together which in everyone has paid for themselves and used Bleisure Rewards® to discount the experience.

Having products and services with loyalty rewards to redeem against experiences makes even the dullest products and services more attractive.

We are working with innovative technology to find more ways to get Bleisure Rewards® out into dining, entertainment, leisure and hospitality businesses to benefit our members so that users have maximum control. We are also developing technology partnerships so that Bleisure Rewards® can work hand in hand with other rewards programmes. We have many innovative opportunities in the pipeline and we are excited to share more about these as they develop.

Customer Retention Made Simple

It costs more to acquire a new customer than to retain an existing customer. 5 x more. With a shift in customer engagement back to face to face, it will be difficult in the future to maintain relationships with customers without experiences. Without addressing business differently, retaining customers would become an expensive exercise. It would be almost impossible for small businesses to compete by following the same rules that have been in the past.

The idea is straightforward, and the Bleisure Rewards app means that users can tap into perks for free in their city pretty effortlessly. We are not live everywhere immediately, but we are expanding town to town, city to city.

Bringing the experience to the forefront is a simplified version of how we have done business in the past. It’s just when we approach something new; it can take a little while to get used to an idea.

Increased pressures and stresses in the world of business have led to a growing focus of mental health in the workplace. Addressing well-being at work can increase productivity, but what about the owners and leaders in businesses? What are they doing to bring their life and well being into balance if it would lead to higher levels of productivity?

All too often business owners can be so driven by their business goals that it is easy to miss out on the journey. The journey actually very often if we are open to possibility can present us with opportunities to reach our goals much sooner. We can only be open to see opportunities if we maintain a positive state of mind.

In a fast-paced business world it can be a challenge to see that slowing down can actually help us achieve more. Steadily the world is waking up to mindfulness (the benefits of having our mind in the here and now moment). More businesses are opening up to well-being and mental health.
